Stocktakes on Mobile Devices
eAccounts lets you do stocktakes on mobile devices with smaller screens then a standard computer. We have optimised it for phones and tablets and done our best to make it with Apple products. (which was not that easy)
You will most likely want a bluetooth barcode scanner to work with these mobile devices, please get confirmation from your supplier that the ones you are buying will work 100% with the device you intend on using, we know from experience that not very many bluetooth scanners work properly with Apple products, so be very careful as it isn't a cheap mistake to make.
We have a SerialIO Scanfob 2002 which we find works perfectly with Apple and Android devices.
When you first go to the stocktake screen, it will ask you what type of devices you are using. If you are using Apple products and a bluetooth barcode scanner, you will have to use the onscreen keyboard that we have created to get around the fact that apple assumes any bluetooth input device is a full keyboard and stops the onscreen one from showing when they are paired.
Apple iPhone With Bluetooth Scanner
This option optimises the screen for smaller devices and uses our onscreen numberpad and keyboard when it is required. It also shows the quick quantity buttons.
Apple iPhone (No Scanner)
This option optimises the screen for smaller devices and only has the quick quantity buttons.
Apple iPad / Laptop With Bluetooth Scanner
This option optimises the screen for a larger tablet and uses our onscreen numberpad and keyboard when it is required. It also shows the quick quantity buttons.
Apple iPad / Laptop (No Scanner)
This option optimises the screen for larger devices and only has the quick quantity buttons.
Android Phone (With or without scanner)
This option optimises the screen for smaller devices and only has the quick quantity buttons. It does not require the onscreen numberpad or keyboard even if you are using a barcode scanner as the keyboard can always be brought up on an Android device.
Android Tablet / Laptop (With or without scanner)
This option optimises the screen for larger devices and only has the quick quantity buttons. It does not require the onscreen numberpad or keyboard even if you are using a barcode scanner as the keyboard can always be brought up on an Android device.

Before purchasing a Barcode Scanner check it is comparable with the device you are going to use it on and that it supports
In particular iPads have very specific requirements for the Barcode Scanners they will work with.
